Georgian Varied Cut Steel Brooch
About the Item
This Cut Steel brooch has telltale Georgian characteristics. Georgian era cut steel has a variety of cut steel bits held in place by rivets to the back brass plaque that has first been drilled with small holes by the jeweler. Here are diamond shapes, round, some large, some small some tiny Later cut steel is set with uniform bits.The steel shimmers as did old cut diamonds of the period. Even the light of candles brought out the glow. In excellent condition, this brooch measures 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wear it as a brooch or pin it on a chain. Weight 13.4 grams.
